Adopt a Pomeranian (long coat)

Pomeranian (long coat) Dog

Chloe the Dog needs a home

Chloe is a 10 year old, 12 pound Pomeranian. She was rescued from a shelter in MD where her owner turned both her and another dog in on the same day.  We are unclear as to why they were turned into the shelter.  Chloe's companion has already been adopted, and now she is looking for her forever home.

Chloe is sweet, great with other dogs, and house trained. She is a very easy dog, and must be placed in a home with another dog. Due to her small size  she will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 13. Chloe's wonderful disposition makes her so easy to love. She loves to be held, snuggled, and generally adored.

Chloe is a healthy girl, and has been totally vetted.  She does have a slight limp on one front leg. Our vets are not sure if this is something that she developed later in life, or if she received an injury as a puppy.  We do know it does not bother her at all and she is in no pain.  She runs and plays with the best of them, and can do stairs just fine.   She does not take any medication for this, and if was an old injury, it has healed.  Chloe still enjoys her leash walks as well as her time in a fenced yard.

Pomeranians posses a thick double coat, which needs to be brushed on a regular basis. Chloe is no exception.  He new owner will need to brush her DAILY.  Owning this breed includes the need to visit the groomer every 6-8 weeks, and this added expense should be considered before applying to adopt.

Chloe would do well in most homes and is a wonderful, sweet companion.  Her new family should have a fenced yard, another similar sized, friendly dog, and time to spend with this wonderful little lady.  Ideally, someone could be home with Chloe, but a working family is fine, as long as Chloe receives the love and hugs she deserves when everyone is home.   Chloe once had a family that loved her, and she had a furry sibling, who has already found a forever home.   Please make her next home her last.  If you are interested in Chloe, please fill out an application and apply for her by name.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:
